Primal Pumpkin Brownies

These are called brownies, though my mind associates brownies with chocolate and these have no chocolate.  I think this is more of a pumpkin cake but either way, it's pumpkin yumminess!  This is from a website that I frequent called This Primal Life.

Serves 8

Ingredients:
1 c almond butter
¾ c canned pumpkin
1 egg
1/3 c honey
1 tsp baking soda

1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Pour into a greased 8 x 8 in pan.
2. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

I love for my food to really capture the essence of the season so I felt this needed more spices and less almond butter.  The butter taste was a little overpowering so I decreased it, increased the amount of pumpkin and added cinnamon, allspice, cloves and nutmeg.  You could also use pumpkin pie spice but I did not have any.  I would use this as a base and modify to suit your tastes. Enjoy!
