CrossFit Local Teens
CrossFit Local is excited to announce the formation of the CrossFit Local Teens program! With the assistance of coaches Audrey and Kelly, we have developed a fantastic program that we are very excited to share with you. We believe healthy self-esteem and self-respect should be fostered early in life. Our program uses the unique combination of skill practice and workouts (WODs) to develop strength and conditioning in teens. Our classes include the same CrossFit elements of bodyweight movements, gymnastics, rowing, running, and weightlifting. These skills will help your teenagers succeed in any sport or discipline they desire. Most importantly, your teens will have FUN!!!
The classes will be focused on middle and high schoolers and will have the following format:
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 PM
45 minutes of exercise followed by at least 15 minutes of reading/studying
Memberships:
3x per week = $110/mo
2x per week = $80/mo
1x per week = $45/mo
These require a 3 month commitment
What is CrossFit Local Teens?
CFL Teens is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, it is entirely absolutely CrossFit
geared and designed for a special population and the specific developmental needs of that population (neurological, cognitive, motor).
This is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for teenagers and helps them develop a lifelong love of fitness. In a group setting, teens participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well-rounded athletes.
The workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scaleable for any participant at any level.
What does this mean?
This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating.
The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that teenagers do - pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of thoroughly trained CrossFit coach and CrossFit Local owner, Chad Edwards.
When fitness is defined as broad, inclusive and general it means that participants will become well-rounded athletes who will be better at any and every sport that they play because we do not coach them to be good at just one thing.
Our workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.
With workouts that are scaleable, CFL Teens can equally benefit a person who is less active or an accomplished athlete by tailoring workouts so that each participant is challenged just enough to deliver measurable results and personal athletic progress.
