What is CrossFit Local?

It's a strength and conditioning program centered on functional fitness. We believe that people of all ages and levels of activity benefit from combining basic functional movements in varied ways to elicit greater fitness. We use pullups, lifts, gymnastics movements, running, rowing, climbing, kettlebells, sandbags, and even tire flips to produce rapid fitness results. We specialize in not specializing. We train the young, the old, the professional athlete, the weekend warrior, the student, the parent, and the beginner. CrossFit produces world class athletes and healthy individuals, and we make that training accessible through

  • functional fitness at high intensity
  • focused strength and conditioning program
  • personalized group training
  • individualized coaching and goal setting
  • small class sizes
  • motivation, support, and accountability
  • a positive group environment
  • a strong community
  • RESULTS!

How is CrossFit Local different from my regular gym?

We are not your everyday drop-in gym. Not only does CrossFit elicit rapid changes in health and performance, but we provide a team environment that fosters motivation, support, and accountability. We are a full-service facility with changing rooms, showers and child care!

What you don't get:

  • no treadmills, elipticals, or weight machines
  • no mirrors, magazines, or tv's
  • no wasted time
  • no fashion show

What you DO get:

  • strength
  • speed
  • hard work
  • a community of people
  • real fitness

Individuals develop more fully when supported by a community. At CrossFit Local we provide you with personal training, individual goals, as well as a community of support. We believe a fit community is a healthy community!

WORLD CLASS FITNESS IN 100 WORDS:

"Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports." - Greg Glassman, founder and CEO of CrossFit
